>Sharon_Dalgliesh: ELOP 8E POLE +12 12
#note This game was absolutely thrilling. Definitely my least accurate game of the tournament. It's a great showcase of the ups and downs of Division 2, Class C
>Caleb_Pittman: AEFNOTZ F6 ZO. +32 32
#note best equity
>Sharon_Dalgliesh: AARU G3 AURA +16 28
>Caleb_Pittman: AEFILNT H1 FLAN +29 61
#note INFLATE... I'll miss more this game, don't worry
>Sharon_Dalgliesh: AEILV 9G ALIVE +15 43
>Caleb_Pittman: AEEIITU 9B ETUI +9 70
#note maybe H2 (L)IEU
>Sharon_Dalgliesh: ATU 8A TAU +13 56
>Caleb_Pittman: AEIITWY 8K YITIE +32 102
>Caleb_Pittman: AEIITWY -- -32 70
#note Another mistake. This is a Collins-only word, a Scottish word for a Yellowhammer. I have never played Collins. I don't care for birds. Why did I think to play this?
>Sharon_Dalgliesh: ELMNO 8K MELON +28 84
>Caleb_Pittman: AEIITWY M6 WI.Y +15 85
#note second equity play, so yay?
>Sharon_Dalgliesh: KNY E8 ..NKY +28 112
>Caleb_Pittman: AAEINNT D12 AN +14 99
#note (F)AINEANT is a word, apparently. Only bingo. I think my play was a lot more standard
>Sharon_Dalgliesh: CEI C11 ICE +22 134
>Caleb_Pittman: ABEEINT L1 BINATE +27 126
#note Top equity, damn!
>Sharon_Dalgliesh: GIR 1L .RIG +21 155
>Caleb_Pittman: AEEHHQR K4 HEH +36 162
#note Also the top play. I'm on a role. What could possibly go wrong?
>Sharon_Dalgliesh: OX 2H .OX +26 181
>Caleb_Pittman: AEIPQRR 11B Q. +11 173
#note Another top equity play
>Sharon_Dalgliesh: BCO 7H COB +13 194
>Caleb_Pittman: AEIPRRS O3 SPRAI.ER +63 236
>Caleb_Pittman: AEIPRRS -- -63 173
#note There is one bingo here, and I certainly didn't see it. 14D ASPIRER. I played a plausible phony, and Sharon challenged it off
>Sharon_Dalgliesh: GI J9 .IG +9 203
#note Sharon told me after the game that she saw that I had REPAIRS on my rack, so she didn't want to open anything up. Turns out that this opens up several bingos to me hooking VIGA. I didn't know them, though
>Caleb_Pittman: AEIPRRS 10E .IP +12 185
#note not horrible, if you ignore the 8 bingos I missed
>Sharon_Dalgliesh: TT 10I T.T +10 213
>Caleb_Pittman: ADDERRS 14B ADD +21 206
#note was thinking of playing ADDER, but I didn't want to create a new hook for Sharon to score. And it's not like AND takes any back hooks, right? RIGHT?
>Sharon_Dalgliesh: EGIRRST O4 STRI.GER +60 273
#note damn it. I knew this was good, but I challenged anyway. I think I was just frustrated by the challenges not going my way today.
>Caleb_Pittman: ?ERRSVW - +0 206
#note challenge
>Sharon_Dalgliesh: ?EEJ 12L JEEs +29 302
>Caleb_Pittman: ?ERRSVW 15D SWeRVER +95 301
#note So, at this point, I figured that I needed a win to stay in contention. I was down 96. So, I decided to try something crazy. I didn't think ANDS or SWeRVER were good, but they were. Sharon had to challenge, and the play stayed.
>Sharon_Dalgliesh: AFNOOU - +0 302
>Caleb_Pittman: AFNOOU 13K OOF +31 332
#note I have one winning play here, and I spot it
>Sharon_Dalgliesh: DDEMOSS 14I MODES +37 339
#note Jesus. Wasn't ready for that. But as long as I can spot my out play, I'm golden
>Caleb_Pittman: ANU N10 NA. +11 343
#note This is the biggest blunder I can remember since I've starting playing Scrabble. After seeing no spots for UNAU or UNAI, I figured my best bet was to score as much as possible with two tiles. I spent 8 minutes on this turn. I could see that Sharon had multiple places to go out for 8. By the end, I had one minute on my clock, and figured that my best chance was to score high and for Sharon to miss her out.

Of course, Sharon spotted AUN(T) immediately, and she pointed it out to me after the game. This loss probably puts me out of tournament contention, but I might win a class prize. You never know
