>Samuel_Kaplan: ?DEILRT 8F TRIpLED +68 68
#note Probably TRILlED to duplicate a floater for him. Small mistake in that department, although any option that places a vowel on the star is clearly better than one underneath a DWS. And this makes it harder for him to play a 7.
>David_Engelhardt: AQ F6 QA. +32 32
>Samuel_Kaplan: ?AAHLOO J7 A.OHA +16 84
#note Right idea, and playing longer is optimal. J6 HO(L)LOA or HA(L)LOO are 3 more each and are a little better.
>David_Engelhardt: EFV 11I F.VE +20 52
>Samuel_Kaplan: ?GLMOOW 12L MOW +24 108
#note Yes. I like being aggressive with the blank here.
>David_Engelhardt: EIL G5 LIE. +19 71
>Samuel_Kaplan: ?AGILNO O7 LOAdING +84 192
#note Skillful drawing was a theme this game. cOALING is most defensive, but I still need to make up spread and catch up. So this looks better under those circumstances.
>David_Engelhardt: DEGI 13J GIED +23 94
>Samuel_Kaplan: AEEMPRY N6 YEP +22 214
#note Was hoping the last tile I saw was an L for LAMPREY, which would have played on Column N. I didn't see K5 PAY(E)E, but I could go either way at this score. AEMR is still a fantastic leave.
>David_Engelhardt: ISX H4 XIS +32 126
#note He's going aggressive now. Time to address that.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AEJMNNR 3G JAR +30 244
#note I passed up JAM because I have the MAXIS hook to be able to continue to outrun him better. Quackle thinks that a better version of this is to play JANE setting up my M. I'm not sure I agree with that because that would allow Dave to set up hooks with 2J plays that might be hard for me to block later on. So JAR looks like the safest play as RAJ opens up Row 2 on both sides for him.
>David_Engelhardt: INOORST 14F INROOTS +74 200
#note TORSION plays above JAR. Why did I accept this silliness?
>Samuel_Kaplan: EIMNNRS 2H MEN +23 267
#note First I accept a phony then I miss K2 REINSMEN. Unacceptable.
>David_Engelhardt: IWY H12 WI.Y +42 242
#note That's way too much spread that I just lost right there.
>Samuel_Kaplan: DEGINRS K2 DESIGN.R +81 348
#note Good. I suppose that makes up for last turn. Glad to see that this fit. #visionsolid
>David_Engelhardt: ABENOUV - +0 242
#note Not actual rack. David exchanged 2 tiles.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AEEENOT G11 AEO. +13 361
>David_Engelhardt: BCEIST 15A BISECT +35 277
>Samuel_Kaplan: AEELNNT 14B TEN +14 375
#note Still no Us played on this board!
>David_Engelhardt: AUV F2 VAU +25 302
>Samuel_Kaplan: AELNORU C7 ALEURON.. +72 447
#note YES! Haven't exactly been consistent in my performance this game, but this should just about put this one to bed.
>David_Engelhardt: FKO 8A FO.K +48 350
>Samuel_Kaplan: ABHRTUZ 4K .HRUB +26 473
#note I didn't see 12A AZ(O)TH which would have given me multpile out spots. But after Dave does not score a whole lot over his next 2 moves after he does something like M2 PE(R)C blocking M1 TZA(R) and threatening only 11A TU(R)D and 12B D(O)UT, I can score a lot either way because I still threaten F10 ZA as a non-out play myself.
>David_Engelhardt: CDEPTU 12B C.UP +16 366
#note Looks like 10B C(U)TUP is a better play if he didn't spot TZA(R).
>Samuel_Kaplan: ATZ M1 TZA. +26 499
#note Next time, don't accept INROOTS*. I mean how can I do that and also find DESIGNER the way I did and also find a 9? In the end, we got another big win and I'm in 1st based on spread. 4-2 +261. My reward is another matchup with up-and-comer Evan Chester, who got me pretty good in Round 3.
